Counselling qualification & experience

I (she/ her) hold a Post Graduate Diploma (PGDip) in  Human Relations and Counselling, accredited by COSCA and awarded by Robert Gordon University. I am BACP registered and have submitted my application for Accreditation.

I have practised as a counsellor in a Third Sector Agency and I am now in private practice, where I work with adults and young people (16+ years), from all cultures and identities, genders, sexualities, neurodiversities and disabilities.

I have eighteen years’ prior experience as an NHS scientist in cancer services, where I gained a PhD in Medical Physics. I also have a PGDip in Community Education and eighteen years’ experience there, working predominantly with people experiencing homelessness, but also in prison and in drug and alcohol services.

I continue to be employed as a relief worker within supported and homeless accommodation and I am SSSC and PVG registered.

Counselling brings together my professional and personal experiences, as a scientist, community worker and human being. It is a journey both into the self and outward into all other relationships. This journey of self-discovery and change, can, at times, be difficult, but, through a trusting and empathic relationship, the rewards can be immeasurable, as we become more true to ourselves.
